Synopsis
This is an introduction to what constitutes an operating system. It was intended for a one-semester course for fourth-year undergraduates and first-year graduate students. The aim is not to provide a programming methodology, but presents fundamental concepts and principals. It include problems sets. It was used at the Univ. of Toronto beginning in 1969. The book includes annotated references to research during the late 60s and early 70s.
