Helping readers take charge of their professional future, this action-oriented handbook covers what every individual needs to know about making career choices, searching for suitable internships and jobs, and succeeding in the workplace of the 21st century. Putting numerous activities for self-assessment and research at the heart of the text, it builds upon a sound theoretical framework that focuses on three major areas corresponding to three essential tasks-1) searching for information (exploration); 2) setting your career direction (specification) and; 3) making your work experience count (implementation). This career resource provides guidelines for exploring career options, identifying individual personality values, interests and skills, gathering information about careers, four-year colleges and graduate schools, selecting a major, making a job choice, make work experience count and developing a career network. For individuals interested in developing a career plan.
