"A picture is worth a thousand words," as the saying goes which provides more clarity on the application scope and how it will be constructed programmatically. Use Case Diagrams and Use Case Descriptions are use to describe the requirements and application scope. Entity Relationship Diagrams are provided to describe the relations between tables in a relational database model. Class Diagrams are used to describe relationships and interfaces between the presentation services and the business/data services of the application. Deployment Diagrams are used to visually describe how the application will be physically deployed in an Enterprise environment.
