Part 1 of Precision Optical Glassworking is a revised and updated translation of Willy Zschommler’s classic book on optical production engineering, “Feinoptik Glasbearbeitung (Werkkunde fiir den Feinoptiker). This deals systematically with every stage in the manufacture of lenses and prisms for precision optical instruments including aspheric surfaces, roof edge prisms, hyperhemispherical lens components for high-power microscope objectives and many aspects of workshop testing for optical components and complete optical instruments. Part 2 of the book is a completely new introduction to the specification, design and interferometric testing of opticl instruments, specially prepared with the needs of the optical technician and practical engineer in mind. The emphasis in this part of the book is on the use of optical equations that lend themselves to modern techniques of microelectronic calculations and on interferometric test methods that are of particular importance for the quality control of precision optical devices. The whole book is profusely illustrated with clear and detailed diagrams which clarify many aspects of opticl engineering not previously covered in the literature of the subject. The book is intended for the training and self-education of optical glassworkers and technician engineers, for whom there is a very sparse literature, and 'often .no well defined career structure. It is hoped that this book will contribute to the improvement of the professional knowledge and status of workers in the optical industry and also appeal strongly to all those who use optical instruments and who wish to know more about the practicalities of the fascinating field of optical manufacturing design and quality assessment.

Condition: Acceptable. LIGHTNING FAST SHIPPING! A heavily used, but still working copy. Coffee stain and wrinkling to the edge of the pages when a tired undergrad fell asleep and knocked their cup over on their books. The binding and pages of the book have been reinforced with tape, has tape and stickers on the cover, as well as lots of notes (some of the answers in the learning activities may be filled in) on the pages. Definitely not pretty, but it's a working copy at a great price that ships fast. ~ Book does NOT contain an access code or CD/DVD. Seller Inventory # #205D-0085
