Synopsis

This significant book by Gary M. Sandquist introduces you to the recognition, definition, quantitative modeling, approximation, analysis, and evaluation of rational systems. The book explores the mathematical treatment of single and multiple input/output systems for continuous and discrete system models, presents the essential methods required to quantitatively establish system models, provides the important methods for analyzing and evaluating all systems, and includes significant examples of system models from a broad range of fields.

From the Back Cover

This significant new book by Gary M. Sandquist introduces you to the recognition, definition, quantitative modeling, approximation, analysis, and evaluation of rational systems. The fundamental approach to system science developed in this book is base upon the principal of causality and is applicable to all quantitative systems.

With this book you will be able to establish the essential perceptions and skills needed to approach any rational system with confidence and competence. Because the author emphasizes quantitative system science, you will need a basic background and skill in mathematics including: ordinary and some partial differential equations, and basic definitions and operations with matrices.

Features of the book include:

  • explores mathematical treatment of single and multiple input/output systems for continuous and discrete systems
  • presents essential methods to quantitatively develop system model equations
  • addresses development and analysis of linear systems
  • provides methods for analyzing and evaluating all systems
  • includes significant examples of system models from a broad range of fields
