Synopsis

For courses in Introduction to Communication

An overview of communication that balances individual and social factors
Revel® Human Communication in Society presents a lively overview of the discipline that engages students in exploring the implications of communication in their daily lives. Providing a balance between theory and applications, authors Jess Alberts, Thomas Nakayama, and Judith Martin highlight the tension between individual and societal forces and encourage students to recognize the value of multiple perspectives in understanding communication. The 6th Edition offers updated content via a new chapter on the in-person conversation skills needed to complement the constant connectivity of social media, as well as coverage of the communication challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Revel empowers students to actively participate in learning. More than a digital textbook, Revel delivers an engaging blend of author content, media, and assessment. With Revel, students read and practice in one continuous experience, anytime, anywhere, on any device.

NOTE: This Revel Combo Access pack includes a Revel access code plus a loose-leaf print reference (delivered by mail) to complement your Revel experience. In addition to this access code, you will need a course invite link, provided by your instructor, to register for and use Revel.
