He is also a Guggenheim scholar and a member of MENC's Hall of Fame. Michael Hewitt is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Undergraduate Studies in Music at the University of Maryland. An active guest conductor and clinician, he also serves of the Editorial Boards for the Journal of Research in Music Education and the Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education.
