Synopsis
Use Of The Oscilloscope breaks down the process of operating a scope into a series of logical steps starting with deflection of the electron beam and continuing through the use of triggering controls to measure phase differences between waveforms. Understanding the operation of the scope is stressed at each step rather than mere operation of the controls, and general principles of electrical measurements applicable to other laboratory instruments are also taught. Each section is divided into preparation, which presents basic theory and lab exercises. These exercises require prediction of scope settings and waveforms followed by experimental verification.
