About the Author
Ray Monk is the author of Ludwig Wittgenstein: The Duty of Genius, for which he was awarded the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize and the Duff Cooper Prize. He is also the author of Robert Oppenheimer and a two-volume biography of Bertrand Russell. He is a professor of philosophy at the University of Southampton.

Soft cover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. The book is structurally sound, complete and legible. Four pages of text contain underlining in pen and ink, and another has a circled word in ink. The remaining 634 pages are clean and unmarked. The book has seen heavy use, and it is worn. The pages are darkening around the edges, the front free endpaper is very wrinkled, and the cover is scuffed and bent. There is a half-inch tear at the bottom of the crease between the front of the cover and the spine, and a smaller one at the top of that crease. There are two small tears at the back top.
