Review

'One of the cleverest and most amusing stories of the year' Punch, 1939, on first publication *'Elizabeth excelled at creating horribly hilarious male characters, and the bone-headed Baron is one of her very best ... The vital ingredient in all her work is fun, and here she is at her most sprightly and irreverent ... The overall effect is as exhilarating as a stiff sea breeze' Kate Saunders
