In both, "you," the heroine, are much older than in other participation series, and choices involve which bar to have a drink in and whether or not to go to someone's flat for coffee. In Star Rider , the heroine inherits some money, buys a horse and enters the world of professional horse competition. Riddle of the Runaway turns the reader into a young detective who travels to the United States through New Orleans clubs and Las Vegas casinos to find a wealthy rock musician who has disappeared. They're not as exciting as they soundand there are more directions to turn to a specific page than actual choices. Chance (a dice roll) and fate (your astrological sign and "lucky number") also play a role here.
