About the Author
Don Freeman nació el 11 de agosto de 1908 en San Diego, California; y falleció en febrero de 1978. Freeman se destacó como artista plástico, ilustrador de periódicos, dibujante, litógrafo, ilustrador de libros, autor e ilustrador de libros para niños. Don Freeman comenzó su vida en una situación difícil, ya que queda huérfano muy joven. Se graduó de la Escuela de los Principia de alta en St. Louis, Missouri. PreSThis mini-board book features Don Freeman's Corduroy using various methods of locomotion. The familiar bear is clad in green overalls, but suit able clothing or equipment is added to the particular activity, e.g., a fire hat for riding in a toy fire engine, a life jacket for waterskiing, a coat and hat for sledding, etc. Each single- or dou ble-page picture shows a different ac tivity. One or two words identify the toy or article used such as skateboard, swing, roller coaster, airplane, sled, etc. Corduroy fans will no doubt enjoy seeing their favorite bear in a new con text. Small hands will find this easy to hold, but the extremely small size will be difficult to shelve and easy to lose. The slightly larger board books are preferable for library circulation.
