PreSchool-K-This introduction to social studies follows some of Wells's most popular characters through a day in their kindergarten class. Yoko, Nora, Timothy, and others join Mrs. Jenkins in various activities designed to teach them about families, their community, and the expanding world around them. Topics such as transportation, holidays, flags, and community helpers are briefly introduced on spreads that feature an interactive activity, as well as small blue boxes in the corner with "The Next Step" activity highlighted. While Wells's characters are as charming as ever, it should be noted that she is only responsible for the cover art, with Koelsch providing most of the interior illustrations. A letter to parents and educators rounds out this volume. For large collections and those that have a strong circulation of the author's other titles.
