Synopsis

About the Author
Theodor Fontane (1819–1898), one of Germany’s greatest writers, published sixteen novels and also worked as a pharmacist, soldier, press agent, journalist, and war correspondent.
Peter James Bowman is a writer and translator who completed a doctoral thesis at Cambridge University on the works of Fontane. He lives in Ely, England.
