About the Author

Renowned lawyer Mrunalini Deshmukh has handled numerous high- profile cases in India, dealing with divorce and ancillary issues of custody and maintenance. Due to the volume of international cases in her career, Mrunalini has mastered obtaining mirror orders from Indian courts for matters under foreign jurisdiction.

Daughter of late Dr T.K. Tope-a constitutional expert and an associate of Dr B.R. Ambedkar-and descendant of the revolutionary Tatya Tope, Mrunalini is also involved with the NGO Samparc, which rehabilitates children of sex workers and HIV-positive parents. She strongly believes in the institution of marriage and the joint family set-up, which is reflected in her personal life.

Lawyer Faz Shroff-Garg has been Mrunalini Deshmukh's junior for the past four years. Faz is an accomplished danseuse and avowed animal rights advocate. She is the daughter of noted solicitor Parimal K. Shroff and sister of advocate Vismay P. Shroff. She lives in Mumbai with her husband, Anirudh, and parents-in-law, Ajay Kumar and Harsh Rekha Garg.
