Synopsis
Santa’s on the way!
Max has plans to stay up late to see Santa Claus, but his big sister, Ruby, wont let him. “Why?” asks Max. To which Ruby replies everyone’s most despised answer: “BECAUSE!” So Max takes matters into his own hands and sneaks into the living room to wait for Santa on his own. Will Santa still show up? What will he say if he sees Max up waiting for him?

About the Author
Rosemary Wells is the author of many popular books for children, including the Max and Ruby books, which feature the beloved bunny siblings who star in their own show on Nick Jr. While her two daughters inspired the Max and Ruby books, Ms. Wells currently draws her inspiration from her five granddaughters, who provide an endless trove of material.

Glad tidings for Max fansthe bunny of board-book fame now stars in his first picture book. Sister Ruby has to drag Max up the steps, scrub his face with a washcloth and remind him to "Spit, Max," as he brushes his teeth. It's Christmas Eve, and Max has a lot of questions about Santa Clausquestions Ruby answers with a "Because!" Not satisfied, the curious bunny sneaks downstairs to wait for the man in red. A bunny-angel at the top of the tree looks on as Santa himself answers some of Max's questions. But he, too, resorts to a "Because!" Max falls asleep.
