About the Author
JOHN C. WAUGH is the award-winning author of several other books on the Civil War era. A former bureau chief for The Christian Science Monitor, his writing has also appeared widely in other publications, including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, and The Civil War Times Illustrated. He lives in Texas.
