Rudyard Kipling (1865–1936) is best known for his works The Jungle Book (1894), Just So Stories (1902), and Kim (1901). He was the youngest ever recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature as well as the first English language writer to receive the prize. Elliot L. Gilbert is the president of the Kipling Society and the author of numerous books and articles on Kipling, including Good Kipling: Studies in the Short Story and Kipling and the Critics.
