Kirkus Review:
According to this rump-sprung tale, it's time for the men of Montana to get at those banks, realtors and company lawyers out to ""Californicate"" big sky country with developments and run ranchers, like J.P., and working environmentalists, like friendly foe Zack, out of business. Before the two get together, and before their offspring Kala and Gabe get married, they have a series of set-tos about mountain lions and grizzlies. Zack (who can ""shout with terrifying wit""), tranquilizes the beasts and removes them to safer haunts while J.P. sets up obstacles. Between safaris Kala and Gabe make love--we think: "'You,' she said. 'You, you.' Her hands held lateral flesh along his lower back, kneading him."
