Synopsis
Probert and Targa understand that, although mathematics is fundamental to today's technology-based society, it can instill fear and anxiety in students who do not possess the equivalent of Grade 12 math skills. Frustrated with U.S. texts that focus on younger students with longer time horizons, the authors designed this text for typical one- or two-semester Canadian courses comprised of adults and a culturally diverse student mix.

About the Authors
Patricia Probert, has a Ph.D in Mathematics, teaches at Seneca College and is an evaluation specialist for the Bank of Montreal.
Anthony Targa founded AQCON Inc., and also teaches mathematics upgrading at Seneca College.
