About the Author

Thomas Hardy (1840-1928) is one of England's greatest novelists. Most of his work is set in his native Dorset, on the south coast of England. Clare West has over twenty years' TEFL classroom experience in the UK and overseas. She is now a freelance author, teacher and oral examiner, with a
special interest in the literary and cultural aspects of language learning.
