About the Author
Jack C Richards is an applied linguist, writer, and teacher trainer. Dr. Richards is currently affiliated with the South East Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Regional Language Centre in Singapore where he teaches candidates for the Diploma in TESL and the MA in Applied
Linguistics issued by the National University of Singapore. Deborah Gordon has been an ES/FL teacher, teacher trainer, program administrator, and materials writer for over twenty five years. She has been involved with ES/FL programs in both the public and private sector in the United States, Europe,
the Middle East, and Africa. Her writing projects include both specific and integrated skills books for students and teachers, workbooks, TOEFL tests, and course book assessment instruments. Deborah is a frequent presenter at annual TESOL conferences.
