About the Author
Ronald Carter is Professor of Modern English Language and Head of School in the Department of English Studies at the University of Nottingham, where he has taught since 1979. He is a member of the Literature Advisory Committee. Professor Carter has published widely in the areas of language and education. Emma Tanner lives in Mozambique where she plays an active role as a parent volunteer at her children's school.
