Second edition. [8], 198 pages. Hardcover: H 20.75cm x L 14.25cm. Dust jacket lightly scuffed at edges, light toning/foxing to spine with stronger foxing more evident to white rear panel. Dark slate gray cloth with bright gilt stamping to spine. Light foxing/toning to edges and endpapers. Interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding retains some crispness. A very good+ copy in a very good- dust jacket. Although not marked with his usual signature/inscription, this book is one of twenty or so mathematical puzzle books purchased from the estate of Dr. James L. Howell (1917-2002) who earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and his Ph.D. in mathematics from Yale University. After teaching stints at Lehigh University, University of Georgia, and University of Delaware, Dr. Howell was professor of mathematics at the University of Alabama from 1966 until 2002.
