Lavishly illustrated, the book covers all known aspects of the anatomy, feeding, locomotion, reproductive biology, biogeography, development, fossil record, and higher taxonomy of every currently recognized group. An introductory chapter explains what a crustacean is, and examines the relationships of old data to arrive at original conclusions about crustacean evolution. Concluding chapters survey crustacean phylogeny and systematics using cladistic methods. A comprehensive international bibliography is also included.
