About the Author

Canadian adapter Lori Wilkinson is associate professor in the Sociology Department at the University of Manitoba, where she teaches courses in ethnic relations, Canadian society and culture, and survey research methods. She is an internationally recognized expert on immigration and refugee studies, in particular on immigrant youths' adaption to the Canadian economic and educational experience. Her commitment to her department, faculty, university, students, and community was recognized in 2008, when she was the recipient of the Faculty of Arts Professor of the Year award. Lori is also involved with the Canadian Sociological Association (CSA) and is currently working on updating the organization's ethics guidelines. Her upcoming writing projects include a co-authored introductory statistics text for OUP.
