Presented in three sections and comprising 37 poems "Catching it" was Edmond's sixth book of verse and did much to cement her reputation as New Zealand's "most distinguished woman poet." Ifs publication followed her tenure of the 1981 Katherine Mansfield Memorial Fellowship to Menton, France, and several of the poems have a travel aspect, with others traversing a wide variety of topics and some set in New Zealand. This nicely produced first edtion of 1983 was published by Oxford UP, Auckland, with the assistance of the New Zealand Literary Fund. 48 pages, VG+ stiff card covers with front/rear flaps have "Menton Villa" line drawing by Sandra Morris to front, narrow, light fade band on front cover adjacent spine, internally excellent, no inscriptions.
