About the Author:
Anthony Blunt (1907-83) was formerly Professor of Art, University of London; Director of Courtauld Institute of Art (1947-1974); and Adviser for Queen's Pictures and Drawings. In 1965 he confessed to having been a Soviet agent since the 1930s, and when these revelations were made public in
1979, he was stripped of the knighthood he had been awarded in 1956.
