Elmar Dellwig (right) is making his debut as an author with this book. He has been a computer enthusiast since the days of the C 64 - something that has come in useful during his training as an Information Technology tutor. While studying Computer Science at the Technical College in Dortmund, he also worked as a hotliner for an international online services provider. This greatly expanded his knowledge of Internet-related issues. Encouraged by his brother, he has now been drawn to writing books.
Ingo Dellwig is an enthusiastic and dedicated Internet user who has had his own homepage for several years. He has been working with computers since 1986. His part-time work on the hotline of a major online service provider enabled him to gather experience with the Internet, while at the same time completing his Computer Studies course at the University of Dortmund. During this time, he was frequently confronted with the problems encountered by users in creating their own homepages. He became self-employed in 1997 and founded SPECTROsoftware, a software house that creates homepages for companies in a variety of industries, as well as working on projects in the entertainment sector and providing training courses.
"In my books I want to help the reader overcome their fear of theory by leading them step by step towards their goal using practical examples."
Ingo Dellwig seems to have been pretty successful with this approach. He has already written numerous books covering various aspects of the Internet, hardware and programming which have all been well received.
