Jill C. Dustin, Ed.D. is a Human Services--Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP) and faculty member in the Department of Counseling and Human Services at Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, Virginia. She received her doctorate degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Cincinnati. Prior to her faculty position at ODU, she worked for over 10 years in the nonprofit sector where she worked primarily with individuals with mental and physical disabilities. Her work in the nonprofit sector is what sparked her interest in fundraising and grant writing. In addition, she served as an Assistant Director of the University of Cincinnati’s Career Development Center where she continued to hone her grant writing and fundraising skills. Her research in the areas of career development, diversity issues, gender issues, and human services faculty and student development have been published in numerous national and international refereed journals. She has also presented her research at countless regional, national, and international conferences. Dr. Dustin serves on a number of professional boards and committees where she actively participates in fundraising activities. She is currently an Associate Editor of the national refereed journal, the Journal of Human Services. She is the recipient of a number of awards including the National Organization for Human Services Miriam Clubok Award for Outstanding Leadership and Service and was awarded the top undergraduate teaching honor, University Professor, at Old Dominion University.
