Meet the Authors:

 

Anne K. Soderman is Professor of Early Childhood Education at Michigan State University.  She has over 25 years of experience and expertise in early literacy.  Soderman is active on the international scene, promoting best practice in early childhood curriculum, assessment, and second-language acquisition.

 

Patricia Farrell is Director of University-Community Partnerships in the Office of University Outreach and Engagement at Michigan State University. As a social worker and administrator in an urban district, she has had extensive experience with school reform efforts.  Her current work promotes university-community partnerships to improve children’s school readiness through staff development, parent education and community mobilization.
