WENDY ANDERSON is a Lecturer in the department of English Language at Glasgow University, UK. Formerly, she was the researcher for the Scottish Corpus of Texts and Speech and Corpus of Modern Scottish Writing projects. She has published on corpus linguistics of English and French.

JOHN CORBETT is Professor of Applied Language Studies in the department of English Language at Glasgow University, UK. He directs the Scottish Corpus of Texts and Speech and the Corpus of Modern Scottish Writing. He is the co-author of Beginning Old English with Carole Hough (Palgrave, 2006) and has written widely on language and education.
