""The Exeter Book', the largest and probably the best known of the four great miscellanies of Anglo-Saxon poetry, receives its name from the fact that it is preserved in the library of Exeter Cathedral, having been given to the cathedral by Leofric, the fist bishop of Exeter, who died in 1072." This contains copies of 35 manuscripts making up part of the Anglo-Saxon poetic records.
