About the Author
Professor Gary Sheffield is the foremost authority on World War I and his books have been published in Canada, the US, France, Germany, and Japan, and have been bestsellers in the UK. He frequently leads tours to historic battlefields, specializing in the Western Front and Gallipoli, and the World War II battlefields of France and Italy. His books include Forgotten Victory: The First World War – Myths and Realities (Endeavor Press), The Somme (Weidenfeld & Nicolson), and Douglas Haig: War Diaries and Letters 1914–18 (Aurum Press), edited with John Bourne.
