John Halas has produced and directed more than 2000 films, including Animal Farm, the UK's first animated feature film. He was a founder member of the International Animated Film Association and received a Life Acheievment Award for Animation at the Zagreg Animation festival. He also received an `Annie' award from Hollywood for his distinguished contribution to the art of animation. he is co-author, with Harold Whitaker, of Timing for Animation, also published by Focal Press.
