Sales: 5,000 Contains a chapter on distribution and does not go into nearly the depth that Ulin does; the focus of Levison's book is film financing. * Crowell: The Pocket Lawyer for Filmmakers (Mar 2007): Sales: 3,200 This is a guide for indie filmmakers on how to avoid legal problems. Distribution is covered, but not in depth. * Parks: Insider's Guide to Independent Film Distribution (May 07). Sales: 3000 Parks' book teaches the independent filmmaker how to make a saleable movie that will get picked up for wide distribution, and also how to negotiate distribution contracts. Ulin's book will not focus on independent films, and film is only part of the broad video-based media spectrum he covers. * Honthaner: Complete Film Production Handbook (2001). Sales: 18,000 This books touches a little bit on distribution, but is much more focused on the nuts and bolts of hands-on producing. * Rayburn: Streaming and Digital Media, Understanding the Business and Technology Similarity: Ulin discusses how new digital media platforms (streaming, downloads, etc.) are impacting the distribution of content.
