Synopsis
The Civil War is nearly over when Lieutenant Catto is wounded by a Confederate teenage soldier, Thomas Martin. Although this occurs thirty-two days after Lee's surrender and Catto recovers, military regulations state that Martin should be executed. Catto tries to get a stay of execution but after a moral struggle, commands the firing squad.
