Seller: Sue Lloyd-Davies Books, CARMARTHEN, United Kingdom
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Good+. First Edition. FINE red boards with bright gilt titling to the spine. In the original publishers' pictorial dustjacket, which is not price-clipped. The white sections of the d/j, and the page fore-edges are a little foxed/spotted/flecked with tiny pale tan spots. There is a large light brown stain to the front edge of the dust-jacket cover. Not too noticable on the outside but very noticable on the reverse of the d/j. The book must have been stored somewhere in the past where the d/j got damp, as the reverse of the jacket also shows some red from the corner of the cover. The d/j is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks VG. The front endpaper also has a little very light brown to the very tips of the page edge - Otherwise there are NO inscriptions or other marks. Internally the book is very clean and unread. (6) + 185 pp. Overall, apart from the d/j stain and pale foxing as noted above, this is a Very Clean, Tight and Bright, Very Good copy. "Upon his return from Palestine, Adam Murray feels alienated from British society, but another trip to Palestine convinces him the two societies are much alike." . 'A Parish of Rich Women', won four major literary prizes, including the Whitbread First Novel Award. See Images; 8vo 8" - 9" tall. Seller Inventory # 114823
