After a wonderful dinner, Sam suggest a picnic and dessert. It is so romantic under the stars and moonlight, and Sam asks Mercy to let him love her - and when he does, he gets the shock of his life! A vengeful Culhane whispers lies to the Reverend Fairweather about the wager Sam made and they strike a deal to separate Sam and Mercy.
