Synopsis

Their Passion Could Not Be DeniedBut Could Their Love Transcend All That Had Gone BeforeOnly a moment. . . And a decision born out of desperation had sealed Sigrids fate. With the raiding English army at her heels, the Viking widow had thrown herself on the mercy of a fierce Saxon warrior. Perhaps it was madness that had driven her into the arms of her enemy, but his look had promised shelter from the carnage surrounding them. She had never wanted a man in her life. She remembered how much reason they had to hate each other. And now she had just done the most dangerous, stupid thing imaginable. . .

About the Author

Helen Kirkman's love affair with Anglo Saxon and Viking history began as a schoolgirl, standing on the mysterious grassy remains of a hill fort and dreaming of what might have been. Other school projects, a degree in languages and various jobs intervened, but when the opportunity came to write in a way that combined history with romance, it proved irresistible.

Born in Cheshire, England, she now lives in New Zealand in a house by the sea shared with husband, two sons and a word processor. Her desire to write was encouraged by Romance Writers of New Zealand and in 2001 she won the Clendon Award for best romance manuscript.
