About the Author
Peter J. Haas is Abba Hillel Silver Professor Jewish Studies at Case Western Reserve University. He received ordination as a Reform rabbi from Hebrew Union College in 1974. He then served as an active U.S. Army chaplain. He is the author of Responsa: Literary History of a Rabbinic Genre (1996), Morality after Auschwitz: The Radical Challenge of the Nazi Ethic (1988) and other titles.
