This paper was originally printed in Germany in 1924. The book deals principally with the Snohomish and Snuqualmi tribes now concentrated on the Tulalip Reservation, Washington, and who formerly occupied the valleys of the rivers that bear their names. Gunter has added some new material but Dr. Haeberlin worked with the oldest people available in 1916-1917 and most had died.
