Although he is one of the most acclaimed violinists of the twentieth century, Louis Kaufman is not as well known to modern audiences as many of his contemporaries. In this memoir Kaufman, who played in over 500 films and countless other venues, discusses his life, his music, and the many talented people he worked with. Annette Kaufman reads her husband's story with devotion. Unfortunately, the nasal quality of her voice is not well suited to a 17-hour recording. Some readers will likely stop listening before the end and, if they do, will miss hearing the "bonus CD" containing selections of Kaufman's wonderful music.
