About the Authors

Scott Straus, professor of political science at the University of California, Berkeley, is a founding editor of the University of Wisconsin Press’s Critical Human Rights series. His books include Making and Unmaking Nations: War, Leadership, and Genocide in Modern Africa.

Lars Waldorf, senior lecturer in international human rights law at the Centre for Applied Human Rights at the University of York, is coeditor of Localizing Transitional Justice: Interventions and Priorities after Mass Violence and Disarming the Past: Transitional Justice and Ex-Combatants.
