Puglisi (art history, Rutgers) stresses Albani's stylistic influencesAespecially the Carraccis, in whose workshop Albani studied and worked, as well as Raphael and TitianAand the classical themes that Albani used in his landscape paintingsAthe Ovid, for example, and the Arcadian pastoral. Quite disappointingly, however, especially considering the book's high price, all of the plates are reproduced in black and white.
