About the Author
Zoe Valdes nacio en 1959 en La Habana, ciudad donde estudio filologia y que abandono a mediados de los anos noventa. En 1993 aparecio en Francia y en Cuba su primera novela, Sangre azul. En 1995 su novela La hija del embajador consiguio el premio de novela breve Juan March Cencillo, de Mallorca; a esta obra le siguieron La nada cotidiana (premio Literaturpreis de Frankfurt), Colera de angeles, Te di la vida entera (finalista del premio Planeta), Cafe nostalgia, Querido primer novio, El pie de mi padre, Milagro en Miami, Lobas de mar (premio Fernando Lara de novela), La eternidad del instante, novela publicada en Plaza & Janes que ha obtenido el premio de novela Ciudad de Torrevieja, y Bailar con la vida. Es chevalier de la Legion de Honor de las Artes y las Letras de Francia, y tiene un doctorado honoris causa de la universidad de Valenciennes. Ha publicado ensayos sobre la realidad cubana y libros para ninos mientras continua su obra poetica con Los poemas de La Habana, Cuerdas para el lince o Breve beso de la espera. Su obra ha sido traducida a mas de veinticinco idiomas, con una extraordinaria acogida por parte de los lectores y de la critica. Actualmente reside en Paris.
