On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks refused to move to the back of a city bus in Montgomery, Alabama. She was not trying to start a movement. She was simply tired of the social injustice. Yet, her simple act of courage started a chain of events that forever shaped the landscape of American race relations.

About the Authors
Rosa Parks was the cofounder of the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute for Self-Development and is recognized as the “mother of the modern-day civil rights movement.”
Gregory J. Reed is a prominent attorney, the author of sixteen books including various bestsellers, a NAACP Image multi-winner, and recipient of the American Book Award.
