These sixteen chapters together describe Wesley's 'biographical notes' and provide the general overview. The third phase of each part is a chapter entitled 'The Analysis.' These four analysis chapters enable Dr. Tuttle to develop his own interpretation and make his own observations, and they reduce the temptation to put words into Mr. Wesley's mouth. This book is an attempt to portray a very real man in such a way that the reader may know that he faced problems in a very real world, in many ways much like his own."
