Everyone loves lists that tell us how to live: Ten Commandments, Girl Scout laws, 12 steps, 7 habits, etc. Collins plays right into this predilection with his 14 principles. Followed faithfully, the 14 principles, no doubt, would guide one to lead a fruitful life, but this is true of any of our sacred lists. The packaging on this program promotes Collins as a clinical psychologist. Minutes into the presentation, however, the listener realizes he is first and foremost a preacher. Collins's irritating voice is high and nasal. If the listener can cope with the voice, the Biblically oriented message is sound though neither innovative nor revolutionary. D.W.K.
