Gahan Wilson's Even Weirder is the 16th collection of deliciously perverse cartoons by a modern master of the macabre. Although Wilson has carved something of a niche for himself with his offbeat novels, short stories, and children's books (!) it is of course as a "weird" cartoonist that he has made his mark on pop culture. Even Weirder gathers cartoons that previously appeared in such prestigious publications as the New Yorker, Playboy, Punch, and Paris Match. Filled with singing werewolves, gleeful homicidal maniacs, children-devouring aliens disguised as Santa Clauses, and pleasant professional torturers, the world of Gahan Wilson always induces both a shiver and a laugh. Anyone who grew up cackling over the classic, creepy work of Charles Addams or Edward Gorey will undoubtedly appreciate this material to the utmost.
